So many of us spend our lives looking for "magical answers" to our human woes when there is an entire universe of magic all around us. All we need to do to experience it is to step outside of our self-imposed Cartesian fortresses and free the observant child inside, the one who knows how to look with total absorption at a blade of grass, an earthworm, a bird, a tortoise, a wild-flower. The magic that underlies reality is visible when we journey through the prism of our eyes to connect directly with the natural world rather than studying it through the lenses of a microscope. Nature is where "magic" and "reality" meet. Bianca Gubalke's "Immortal Life Of Piu Piu" is a portal to that world, the world of Magical Realism.
